How it works
From the first call to a live, looked-after website in about a week for a default 3-page build. Here is exactly what happens at each step.
01 / The short version
Talk, design, build, launch
Most small business owners we speak to have been quoted thousands of pounds for a website, told it will take three months, and asked to fill in a brief that reads like a tax return. We do it differently. One call, one designer, one monthly fee, and a default 3-page site live in about a week.
There are four phases: a kickoff call, a design preview, a staging build, and launch. After that, the site is on us. Hosting, backups, SSL and any changes you need are all bundled into the monthly plan.
The whole point is that you should be able to ignore the website while we look after it. You run the business, we run the site, and the only time you hear from us is when we have shipped what you asked for.
02 / What happens at each step
Six things you can expect
No mystery, no surprises, no stage where you wonder what we are doing with your money.
A short kickoff call
Thirty minutes, no slide deck. We ask about your customers, your offer, what you sell, what you do not, and what your current site is failing to do. By the end we both know whether we are a fit.
A clickable design preview
Within roughly a week of kickoff you get a preview link. Real fonts, real colours, real copy in place. You poke at it on your phone, send notes back, and we revise before a single line of production code is written.
A staging build you can test
Once the design is signed off, we build the production site on a staging URL. You test forms, send yourself enquiries, check it on the kitchen iPad, and tell us what to change before launch.
A clean go-live
We point the domain, set up email forwarding, install SSL, and watch the launch. Most go-lives take an afternoon. If you have a current site, we minimise downtime so customers never hit a dead URL.
Your customer portal
After launch you get a portal login. Drop a message, attach a photo, ask for a new page. We pick it up in UK hours, make the change, and ping you when it is live. No CMS to learn.
Quiet maintenance forever
Hosting, backups, SSL renewal, security patches, uptime monitoring and speed checks all happen in the background. You only hear from us when we have something useful to say.
03 / Timeline
About a week, end to end
Talk
Book a call from the contact page. Day one, you tell us about the business. By day two we confirm scope, timeline and the monthly price.
Design
A few days later you get a clickable preview. We revise until you are happy with the look, no round counter. Nothing is built in code until you have signed off the design.
Build
Production build on a staging URL, usually within a couple of days of design sign-off. Forms wired up, content in place, ready for you to test on real devices.
Launch
We point the domain, hand over the portal, and start looking after the site. A default 3-page site goes from first call to live in about a week. Bigger builds get a realistic timeline on the first call.
FAQ
Common questions
How long does the whole process take?
Most 3-page sites go from kick-off call to live in about a week. Faster if you already have content and photos ready, slower if you want to write copy with us as we go. Bigger builds get a realistic timeline on the first call so nothing is a surprise.
What do I need to provide?
A rough idea of what you sell, any photos or logos you already have, and time to feedback on the design preview. If you do not have a logo or photos, we can sort both. We will never block on something you do not have.
Do I have to sign a contract?
No contract. The monthly plan rolls month to month and you can cancel any time with a single message. No notice period, no cancellation fee. We hand over your domain and content cleanly. We would rather earn the next month than lock you in.
What if I do not like the design?
We revise until it is right. The design and build happens before you pay anything, so if the direction is wrong we keep working on it. If after a couple of rounds the brief still feels off, we have a different conversation rather than throwing more screens at it. Worst case you walk away having paid nothing.
When do payments start?
Your first monthly payment kicks in the day the site goes live, not before. The design and build phase is included in the monthly fee, not billed up front.
What happens after launch?
We keep looking after the site. Hosting, backups, monitoring, security patches and any change you ask for via the portal. You stop thinking about the website and get on with running the business.
Ready to get going?
Start free. We will design and build your site, then look after it for a flat monthly fee.
